Quentin Miller 18 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Fifteen Internship Time: 1h Blog Time: 0.2h Product Time: 0h Total Time: 1.2h Today it was the final full day of being in Spain for me as I will depart on the morrow. Yesterday was the last real day of work, of course, and today we just went into the office to wrap up and say our thanks and goodbyes. This project has been very memorable and I have learned so much about myself and about Spain and the Spanish culture.

Quentin Miller 17 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Fourteen Internship Time: 8.5h Blog Time: 0.2h Product Time: 0.5h Total Time: 9.2h Today was the Salesforce BaseCamp event in Madrid and I attended and got to see an amazing keynote presentation as well as the whole exposition at the fair centre; an overall fantastic experience. The highlight of the day was most certainly getting to meet the head of Salesforce Europe, a very high ranking executive and probably one of the most powerful, important people that I have ever met. It was very nerve racking, but exciting to meet someone of that status. During the event, I surprisingly was not needed to help out too much, which allowed me to experience the exposition more. There were over 4500 people in attendance.

Quentin Miller 16 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Thirteen Internship Hours: 6h Blog Hours: 0.3h Product Hours: 2h Other SP Hours: 0.2h Total Hours: 8.3h Today, I finished one of the large projects I was working on for my internship which centered on working with the admin/developer software. This task (and getting to this point of achievement) was challenging for me but is rewarding. In addition to doing this, I also finished a final draft of my One Pager (shown in the "Other SP Hours" time category) complete with a picture of me and a proofread textual element. In terms of my product, I continued to make final edits and to check over my work to ensure that it is accurate and representative of my ideas and of what I want to convey in terms of information and message.

Quentin Miller 15 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Twelve Internship Time: 6h Blog Time: 0.2h Product Time: 2h Total Time: 8.2h Today, I worked a lot in my internship and began helping people in the office in preparation for Base Camp which is a large event that Salesforce hosts in Madrid in order to spread the word about what they do and to find and connect with potential clients. I also found out that I would be able to attend the event, something very exciting to me. In addition to my time in the office today, I spend time working on finalizing and continuing to add finishing touches and edits to my maps.

Quentin Miller 14 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Eleven Internship Time: 7h Blog Time: 0.3h Product Time: 3h Other SP Time: 4h Total Time: 14.3h Today, I worked extremely hard on many different areas/parts of Senior Project because I felt highly motivated and productive the whole day from 8:00am to 10:00pm. In the morning, I worked through many tasks with my learning of the Salesforce software and earned several badges of achievement/rank, in addition to helping with other office tasks. After I left the office, I immediately began working on finalizing my products and began going back through my many maps in attempt to make them more legible and user-friendly in preparation for Senior Project Night. In the "Other SP Time" category, I completed my final presentation for Senior Project Night, complete with every work I will say during the presentation and I also completed my One Pager (but I still need to insert an image and format). Lastly, I wrote this blog. It's...

Quentin Miller 11 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Ten Internship Time: 0h Blog Time: 0.1h Product Time: 2h Total Time: 2.1h Today, I unexpectedly did not have work so I spend the day taking in more sights of the wonderful city of Madrid, of course, in addition to writing the blog and finalizing one of my most recent maps. I also decided to double back and improve some of the information and the layout of one of my other maps. All in all, today was a light Friday in terms of Senior Project work, but a very memorable experience.

Quentin Miller 10 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Nine Internship Time: 7.5h Blog Time: 0.3h Product Time: 2.7h Total Time: 10.5h Today, I concentrated most of my energy on my work in the office/for my internship. I want to spend more of my time on the internship work through the end of this week so that I could emphasize finishing my product next week. (Of course, I would still be logging over the minimum internship hours and project hours each day and week.) Today, my concentrated effort in the office allowed me to reach much more advanced levels within learning about and working with the software. I feel that my presence is becoming more and more beneficial to the office as time progresses.

Quentin Miller 9 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Eight Internship Time: 6h Blog Time: 0.3h Product Time: 4h Total Time: 10.3h Today, I worked heavily on my product in addition to continuing with my progress with the demo during my internship. In the internship, I struggled a bit with understanding some of the new information associated with my learning, but luckily the employees are very kind and are nice enough to lend me a hand. Overall, I have found the work culture to be much more welcoming and kind than in the United States. For my product, I have completed yet another map, this one showing areas and details regarding future improvements that must be made to create a better system for transportation in the Bay Area. To me, this is the most exciting map so far.

Quentin Miller 8 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Seven Internship Time: 5.5h Blog Time: 0.3h Product Time: 4h Total Time: 10.1h Today, in the office, I worked through some of the demo activities to become more acquainted with the elements used in creating platforms and functions that utilize the Salesforce software. These activities/practices/exercises are specifically catered towards administrators at companies that are customers of Salesforce or employees of Salesforce. I am currently nearly capable of designing different "orgs" (as they are called) in order to help the other members of the office in creating demonstrations for potential customers. In addition, I also finished work on a map that shows the historic and current volcanic activity/spots/regions within the United States and began working on an additional map today.

I am becoming more proficient in understanding how the demo construction and creation works and am learning a lot about the need for strong methods of corporate communication as it is the basis for making a successful business. Quentin Miller 4 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Five Internship Time: 6h Blog Time: 0.25h Product Time: 6h Total Time: 12.25h Today, was the third day of the internship for me and I was able to direct my work/volunteering for the office in a direction that I was really interested in with regard to Salesforce and my theme of communication. I was asked to work on creating a demonstration website for a hypothetical client (another company) that could be a potential customer of Salesforce. My work on beginning to construct a platform for communication that catered to that company's specific needs allowed me to gain more knowledge in to seeing what is needed to allow for effective communication in a realistic environment like a corporate workplace. Additionally, some of this information and my work may be assessed and then used to help future interns understand more about the software used and how it is used in the office. In addition to this time in the office, I also spend awh...

Quentin Miller 3 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Four Internship Time: 8h Blog Time: 0.5h Product Time: 3h Total Time: 11.5h Today was the first day back from having two days of holiday and marked my second day at the internship. Today featured much more work and more introduction into other things to do and help out with in the office. Today, I learned about working with Salesforce Trailblazer to help form demos for companies, something critical in the elements of communication and CRM that the company specializes in and the typical types of work that are conducted. In addition to my work in the office, I also made some time to explore central Madrid on foot and of course to write my blog and work on my product.

Quentin Miller 2 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Three Internship Time: 0h Blog Time: 0.5h Product Time: 1h Total Time: 1.5h Today was Madrid Day and, because of the holiday, the office was once again closed so I did not have any internship hours today. In addition to spending some time on my product and on writing my blog, I went to the world famous Museo del Prado to see some of the most famous works of art in the world. The weather is getting warmer and it is becoming nicer to be outside and to experience the best sights of Madrid. Starting tomorrow, I will resume work and will be working for the vast majority of each weekday until the 18th of May.

Quentin Miller 1 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Two Internship Time: 0h Blog Time: 0.5h Product Time: 4h Total Time: 4.5h Today was Labour Day in Spain, a national holiday. Because of this, the office where I am doing the internship was closed today, meaning that I was unable to do my internship today. Today, I travelled to the town of Segovia, outside of Madrid to see a Roman aqueduct as well as a medieval castle and an amazing cathedral. In my other time today, I worked hard on continuing to work on the maps I am making. This evening, I went to the pregame festivities for a Real Madrid soccer game. Overall, in addition to working on my blog and my product, I experienced many new and exciting elements of Spanish culture and history.
