Senior Project
Week Eight Blog
This blog post will serve as a general update regarding my progress thus far and my plan for the rest of Senior Project. Since the last non-research blog, I have confirmed my internship/volunteership and have started working on my product for the project. I will be interning (of course without pay) at the Salesforce office in Madrid, Spain. I will arrive in Madrid on Saturday 28 April and depart Madrid on 18 May. Note that I will be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times for liability reasons and that this trip has been approved by the school and by the company. During my time there I intend to be working with the internship for a large part of each day. In the time when I will not be working, I will be able to concentrate my efforts on creating my product though making maps. This process may appear simple, but is realistically a highly time consuming process that, while exciting and interesting to me, requires a lot of concentration and focus. In addition to this, I will dedicate time each day to completing the daily blogs. In terms of my progress so far with my product, I have created two maps: one of all of the neighborhoods of San Francisco and another that shows all of the airports and flight paths that I have taken throughout my entire life. In addition to these relatively straightforward maps, I plan to make a number of other maps such as (but not limited to): all of the destinations that can be reached by flying through airports in California, all of the volcanoes in the United States with the status level, a plan for where public transportation needs to be expanded or implemented in the Bay Area, a comprehensive map of the Continental Divide, an interactive/informational geographical visual display of the prominent geological features in (northern) California, and many more.
