Today was the first day of the internship (volunteership). The day mostly consisted of becoming aquatinted with the office atmosphere, the work culture, and the idea of getting a better understanding of what Salesforce is as a company and how it connects users, companies, and customers through data and analytics. The office is located about 25 minutes (walking) from were I am staying and I needed to be at the office at 10:00. Upon arrival, I needed to get a card from the building security and then I met my host. The introduction was followed by an orientation of the office space and meeting many of the main individuals at the office, including the manager of Salesforce Iberia. All of the information and everything that had and that has to do with the internship is nearly completely in Spanish. I then received an on-boarding session from one of the senior members of the marketing/sales team about Salesforce. After the session, I then engaged in assisting/working with my host on a website design project, among other things. All in all, the day was relatively work-light, but heavy on the introduction element in order to establish an understanding of the environment. After working hours were complete, I proceeded to continue work on my product: making maps.

Quentin Miller 8 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Seven Internship Time: 5.5h Blog Time: 0.3h Product Time: 4h Total Time: 10.1h Today, in the office, I worked through some of the demo activities to become more acquainted with the elements used in creating platforms and functions that utilize the Salesforce software. These activities/practices/exercises are specifically catered towards administrators at companies that are customers of Salesforce or employees of Salesforce. I am currently nearly capable of designing different "orgs" (as they are called) in order to help the other members of the office in creating demonstrations for potential customers. In addition, I also finished work on a map that shows the historic and current volcanic activity/spots/regions within the United States and began working on an additional map today.

Quentin Miller 11 May, 2018 Senior Project Day Ten Internship Time: 0h Blog Time: 0.1h Product Time: 2h Total Time: 2.1h Today, I unexpectedly did not have work so I spend the day taking in more sights of the wonderful city of Madrid, of course, in addition to writing the blog and finalizing one of my most recent maps. I also decided to double back and improve some of the information and the layout of one of my other maps. All in all, today was a light Friday in terms of Senior Project work, but a very memorable experience.
