Senior Project
Week One Blog
Some of my concerns revolve around deciding which idea of mine I should choose to pursue and acquiring an internship depending on which idea/project I choose to do. I have an idea of what topic/project/thing I want to do for Senior Project which is creating maps that enable others around me (and myself, for that matter) to rethink how we as people use space and move through that space. For this geographic diagram option, I do have an internship in mind that is a very good opportunity and would allow me to understand San Francisco from a new angle and understand how social issues and other challenges affect how we perceive this city. My other ideas are ones for which I do not have clear ideas for internships: climate forecasting/something weather-related and redesigning Community Time in a way that is far more beneficial for students and that allots the scare amount of time in a more efficient way. For this last option, I am concerned about getting it approved (as members of the administration this year and last year were more than happy to pull the plug on my aspirations and dreams regarding this issue). A fourth, more far-fetched idea that just popped into my mind was the possibility of trying to learn German; however, this has little "public good" and is not as fitting for the Senior Project criteria.
